Antigua Black Pineapple, which is undoubted the world's sweetest pineapple, and the national fruit of Antigua and Barbuda, is currently being grown commercial on approximately one hundred acres. Whilst provision is being made to expand production of the fruitwhich takes an average of 18 to 20 months before being ready for harvesting, to satisfy not only local market but for export. Presently, there is a supermarket in Sweden which purchases the pineapple from Antigua and Barbuda for the European market.
