On 14 November 2009, Nigeria qualified for the 2010 World Cup after defeating Kenya by 3–2 in Nairobi. Nigeria lost their opening match against Argentina 1–0 at Ellis Park Stadium following a Gabriel Heinze header in the 6th minute. In their second game Nigeria led early on by a goal from Kalu Uche. After a red card against Sani Kaita Greece had the advantage. Shortly before the break Greece scored the equalizer and in the second half Nigeria conceded the second goal and lost the game. For the 2010 South Africa World Cup Mexico was drawn into Group A along with the host South Africa, France and Uruguay. In the first match of the tournament they drew 1-1 against the host South Africa with a late strike from Rafael Márquez. The aquarium's main tank is 40 metres long and 20 metres wide and holds 3 million litres of seawater. It incorporates a 98 metre acrylic tunnel. The facility holds approximately 400 species of marine life. The facility is host to a seal enclosure, "Seal Island".
