The Singapore River is a canal in Singapore with great historical importance. (Despite its name, Singapore River is not a river because it lacks the three courses of a river) It flows from the Central Area, which lies in the Central Region in the southern part of Singapore before emptying into the ocean. The immediate upper watershed of the Singapore River is known as the Singapore River Planning Area, although the northernmost part of the watershed becomes River Valley. As the Central Area is treated as a central business district, nearly all land surrounding it is commercial. It is one of about 90 rivers in Singapore and its islands. It is the place where Raffles made the 1st trading port in Singapore. The Singapore River is the most famous river in Singapore.

Fridge Magnet Merlion
The Merlion (Malay: Singa-Laut) is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, used as a mascot and national personification of Singapore. Its name combines "mer" meaning the sea and "lion". The fish body represents Singapore's origin as a fishing village when it was called Temasek, which means "sea town" in Javanese. The lion head represents Singapore's original name — Singapura — meaning "lion city" or "kota singa".

Fridge Magnet Singapore Cable Car
The Singapore Cable Car provides
an aerial link from Mount Faber on the main island of Singapore to the resort
island of Sentosaacross the Keppel Harbour. Opened on 15 February 1974, it was the first aerial ropeway
system in the world to span a harbour. However, it is
not the first aerial ropeway system to span the sea. For instance, Awashima Kaijō
Ropeway in Japan, built in 1964,
goes over a short strait to an island. Although referred to by its
operators as a cable car, the listed system is in fact a bi-cable gondola lift and not an aerial tramway. A round-trip ticket currently costs SGD 29 for adult, SGD
18 for child.

FRIDGE MAGNET CHINATOWN
Singapore's Chinatown is an ethnic neighbourhood featuring distinctly Chinese cultural elements and a historically concentrated ethnic Chinese population. Chinatown is located within the larger district of Outram. As the largest ethnic group in Singapore is Chinese, Chinatown is considerably less of an enclave than it once was. However, the district does retain significant historical and cultural significance. Large sections of it have been declared national heritage sites officially designated for conservation by the Urban Redevelopment Authority.
FRIDGE MAGNET BUGIS STREET
Bugis, in the city-state of Singapore, was renowned internationally from the 1950s to the 1980s for its nightly gathering of transwomen, a phenomenon which made it one of Singapore's top tourist destinations during that period. In the mid-1980s, Bugis Street underwent major urban redevelopment into a retail complex of modern shopping malls, restaurants and nightspots mixed with regulated back-alley roadside vendors. Underground digging to construct the Bugis MRT station prior to that also caused the upheaval and termination of nightly transgender sex bazaar culture, marking the end of a colourful and unique era in Singapore's history.
