Pocky is a Japanese snack food produced by Ezaki Glico. Pocky was first sold in 1966, and consists of chocolate-coated biscuit sticks. It was named after the Japanese onomatopoetic word pokkin. The original was followed by almond coatings in 1971, and strawberry coatings in 1977. Today, the product line includes variations as milk, mousse, green tea, honey, banana, cookies and cream, and coconut flavored coatings, and themed products such as "Decorer Pocky", with colorful decorative stripes in the coating, and "Men's Pocky", a dark (bittersweet) chocolate and "mature" version.

After the calamity of the Big Flood of 1926, when the original palace, Istana Sri Sayong, was almost swept away, a decision was made to built a new palace that is on higher ground. Istana Kenangan was built as a temporary mausoleum for the late Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Iskandar Shah (Marhum Kadasallah), while awaiting the completion of Istana Iskandariah nearby.

Railways “hidden” beach, Phra Nang aka Cave Beach is a beautiful, secluded stretch of beach 15 minutes walk from Railay West. This beautiful place is reached within about 15 minutes walk from West Railay. One passes the interior lagoon and some fairly impressive rocky landscape to get there. The beach itself is idyllic with beautiful white sand and very clear seas. At one end are steep rocky outcrops where one can see rock climbers negotiating their way up the cliff face. At the base of the cliffs isn Tham Phra Nang Nok or Princess cave. This is a shrine dotted with fairly graphic phallic statues and carvings – a place dedicated to fertility where couples come to pray for success in having children and local fishermen leave offerings.
