Zoo Taiping (Malay for Taiping Zoo) is a major zoological park located at Bukit Larut, Taiping, Perak. Established in 1961, Taiping Zoo is the oldest Zoo in Malaysia.It is one of the major zoological parks in Malaysia. It has 34 acres (140,000 m2) of space and exhibits various animals such as amphibianss, mammals and reptiles to sum up a total of 1300 animals of 180 species. It also has a night safari.As it is the only zoo in North Malaysia, it tends to receives a large amount of visitors. It houses the largest number of Stump-tailed Macaques in Malaysia, which is thirteen, compared to Zoo Negara's six and Malacca Zoo's five.
